It was so nice to see that the ice skating rink was still there!
Back from NYC!
I’m a little late with this but I returned from New York this time last week. I had never been in the spring before so I really enjoyed it. The weather was lovely. It was actually warmer in NYC than it was back home in Los Angeles.
I’ll post a few pictures now and the rest this weekend.
I’m off to Maui next Thursday! I have never been before and I’m so excited.
Have any of you been? What are your favorite things to do there?
about to head out to the airport to catch a flight to new york city! stoked. it will be my first time. i’m scared i might love it too much and i’ll never want to leave. does anyone have any music recommendations for the flight?
See you soon :)
Igougo.com contest! Oh, and I turned 22 today (gross, old).
If any of you have a moment, I’d really appreciate if you’d take a second to vote for me in this contest. You don’t have to sign up for anything and you can only vote once so it’s pretty simple! Also, it would be a nice birthday gift :)
http://www.igougo.com/ugoawards/vote/vote.aspx
I’m nominated for “Travel Photographer of the Year” and “New Member of the Year” awards. Also, if you scroll down a bit one of my photos is nominated for “Pretty City Award”. My username is lavenderdays.
If I do win I’ll definitely use my prize to give back to you guys and have more travel book giveaways!
The contest ends March 19th. Thanks everyone!
<3
**** One more thing! If you do vote, please message me your username so I know who to thank and I’ll put those names in a drawing for a brand new travel book of your choice. I’ll probably choose up to 3 winners!
My friend Ana is currently living in Cambridge, England as an aupair. I am completely envious and cannot wait to visit her. In the mean time, I’ve been watching all of her videos that she’s been uploading every week on youtube about her experiences over there.
She recently posted one and it takes you around the city. I’m probably biased but I love it and I’d definitely recommend checking her channel out if you enjoy travel videos :)
Q: Your upcoming travel adventures sound amazing! Do you just travel for fun or...?
A:
Yes, just for fun! I can’t wait for the day when I have a job that pays me to travel.. :)
Q: Hey Lauren, I was wondering what flat you stayed at in England (it was in your 2010 visit, whereabouts in England you said, I'm not sure), and would you recommend it?
A:
Hi there! Sorry I’m responding late.
Through my study abroad program, I stayed at Ashburn Garden Apartments. Amazing location in South Kensington, 2 minutes walk from Gloucester Road tube station. I’d definitely recommend it. There is a cleaning service once a week and the apartments are very nice, nothing fancy. There is a lift which is nice! They do claim to have wifi but when I was there, it would only work if you used it on the main floor so keep that in mind. However, there are several Starbucks close by if you need internet. Since I stayed here with my study abroad group, I don’t know what the normal rates are. I lived here for 3 months.
Here is their website http://www.ashburngardens.co.uk
I hope this helps :)
Exciting trips ahead!
I’ve been slacking lately… mostly because I haven’t traveled anywhere since December. I have quite a few trips coming up though that I’m very excited about so look out for those posts soon :)
I’ll be leaving soon for NYC this month then Hawaii in April and all around Europe for the summer. It hasn’t even sunk in yet that I’ll be going to these places but I cannot wait.
I hope you all have been well <3
Does anyone else have any exciting spring/summer plans? Let me know!
?
If everything works out I’ll be taking my first cruise in late August/September with some of my best friends! We’re thinking a European cruise…
I don’t know anything about cruises. Have you guys ever been on one? What are some of your favorite cruise lines?
My Las Vegas Recommendations!
My favorite hotels:
Affordable: Planet Hollywood - great location, nice & spacious rooms!
Mid-Range: The Paris Hotel or The Venetian - a bit pricier than Planet Hollywood but they’re always having great deals and when split between a few people it can be quite affordable.
Splurge: The Bellagio or The Cosmopolitan - absolutely beautiful, great restaurants & bars, perfect location
*Remember* Any hotel room will be way more expensive on the weekends so unless you’re splitting a room with a few people, try going mid week!
My favorite restaurants/bars:
Tao Restaurant at The Venetian (also a club)
The Chandelier Bar at The Cosmopolitan
The Buffet at The Bellagio
My favorite shows:
Cirque du Soleil - Beatles LOVE at The Mirage
Phantom of the Opera at The Venetian
