Back from Hawaii!

After 9 lovely days in Maui, I can finally say I don’t look like a complete ghost anymore.  I wouldn’t call myself TAN but at least I look more human.  That’s all you can ask for, really.

I’m going through the hundreds of pictures now and will start posting tomorrow :)

ALSO… a huge thanks to anyone who voted for me in the Igougo.com photo contest because I did end up winning in all three categories.  Thank you so much!  I’ll definitely be using some of my winnings to give away a couple of new travel books for you guys.

Bryant Park!  You can also see the New York Public Library in this photo.  Both are lovely.

Top of the Rock

If you’re traveling to NYC and want to see some great views, Top of the Rock is the place to go.  It’s the tall building located in Rockefeller Plaza.  You won’t miss it, trust me.

I like going here so much better than the Empire State Building and here’s why:

1. Shorter lines.  I can’t stress this enough.  The Empire State Building is always SO much more crowded.  Even if you book tickets ahead of time online you can still wait up to an hour.

2.  Better views.. in my opinion.  You’re much closer to central park and you don’t have the Empire State Building in your way.  Also when you go to the other side you can actually get the ESB in your pictures!

3.  Top of the Rock is about 20 stories shorter than the Empire State Building… which is plenty high, trust me!  I remember the Empire State building feeling so damn high up and you can also feel the building sway.  It’s terrifying haha.

I’ll post more pictures tomorrow.

It was my first time visiting this cathedral.  I definitely felt like I was in Europe for a moment.  It was so impressive, I had never seen anything like this in the States before.  It’s also free to go in so that’s a plus! :)
